38-40 Win

The .38-40 Winchester was introduced in 1874 and is derived from their .44-40. It is unclear why the cartridge was introduced, being that it is very similar to the .44-40 but has less muzzle energy and is slightly slower. The renewed interest in the caliber is due to cowboy action shooting.
