6.5x55 Swedish

The 6.5x55mm Swedish cartridge is a first generation smokeless powder, rimless bottlenecked rifle cartridge that was introduced in the 1890s and is still one of the most common rifle cartridges in Scandinavia today. The cartridge was developed in a joint effort between Norway and Sweden in 1891 for use in new service rifles. In 1990 the cartridge was standardized again, tightening the tolerances of the original load.
