The 8mm Mauser cartridge (7.92x57mm) was adopted by the German Empire in 1903-1905 and was Germany’s service cartridge in both World Wars. Back in the day it was one of the world’s most popular military cartridges and even today it is still a popular hunting cartridge. The 8mm Mauser is suitable for the hunting of all medium size game such as deer, sheep, wild boar and bear.
